Accessibility
A document is no good to you if you cannot read it, and neither is a website. These are the commitments this particular site is built to keep, stated plainly and meant literally.
AC What this site undertakes
- AC.1
This site is built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2, Level AA, as its target. Where we fall short of it, we treat that as a defect to be fixed, not a matter of taste.
- AC.2
Every link, button, and interactive control can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone. Nothing here needs a mouse.
- AC.3
Keyboard focus is always visible. Wherever you are on the page, you can see where you are.
- AC.4
When your system asks for reduced motion, the site honours it: entrances and transitions render as the designed still image, with nothing sliding or fading in.
- AC.5
The content is real HTML text, not pictures of words. It can be read by a screen reader, selected, and searched, and the plain-English margin notes are present in the page whether or not you can see them appear.
- AC.6
The layout holds together at 200 percent zoom without loss of content or function, so you can make the type as large as you need.
- AC.7
If any part of this site is a barrier to you, we want to hear about it. Write to us and we will treat it as a real problem with a real fix.
To report a barrier, write to reception@marlowefenn.ca or call (250) 555-0184. Tell us what happened and what you were trying to do, and we will get back to you.
